I have been using Apache OpenOffice for a couple of years, so I wanted to see what new features are in Libre. It turns out that Libre outranks Apache in numerous areas for extra features. However, since I'm a fan of "portable" programs, I downloaded the portable Libre OpenOffice. It installed the folder and links okay and ran one time! That was it. Everytime I click Write or Calc after that, I get the splash rectangle, but nothing else. I deleted it and reinstalled the portable folder. This time I could not even it to start a first time. Rebooted PC. Same thing. Tried a fresh install on a USB drive. Same story. Worked once and after that it did not open again. ???? Any thoughts on what causes this? The notebook is pretty decent, it is an HP x360 13" with an Intel I5, so that is not the problem. Also, Apache portable still works every time after I tired it, but not Libre portable.
